Opening Ceremony of Section 2 South Klang Valley Expressway
Y.Bhg Datuk Himmat Singh, Secretary General Ministry of Works had completed the Opening Ceremony of Section 2, South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) on May 29, 2012 ago. Section 2, along the 12.6 kilometer of SKVE Highway was built to connect the Saujana Putra Interchange in Puchong and Teluk Panglima Garang in Banting, Selangor. This highway is an alternative route to the highway users because it is connected to other highways such as the North South Expressway (NSE), North South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Kajang Ring Road (SILK), Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and in the near future with the West Coast Expressway.
In addition, with the opening of Section 2 SKVE Highway, it can reduce the time and distance traveled by the user from Putrajaya to Teluk Panglima Garang in 30 minutes time at a distance of 40 kilometers than ever before for 1 hour and 30 minutes at a distance of 70 kilometers through existing routes . In Section 2 also, the user will be provided with two R & R facilities, which is R&R Tanjung Dua Belas (East and West direction).
SKVE highway will operate with Closed Toll Collection system. In conjunction with the opening of Section 2 (from Saujana Putra Interchange to Teluk Panglima Garang Interchange), SKVE Highway, the Government has agreed to provide free passage without toll collection in Section 2 to all users until June 29, 2012. Toll collection will be started on June 30, 2012 from 12:01 pm.
