GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY OF WEST COAST EXPRESSWAY PROJECT (WCE)

TELUK INTAN, May 25 - YAB Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin Bin Haji Mohd Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia have completed a ground breaking ceremony for the West Coast Expressway ar R&R Batu 5, Teluk Intan, Perak. Also present were YAB Dato' Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Bin Abd Kadir, Chief Minister of Perak; YB Datuk Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Minister of Works; YB Datuk Rosnah Rashid Shirlin Bte Abdul Rashid, Deputy Minister of Works; YBhg. Datuk Ir. Hamzah bin Hasan, Chairman of MHA, YBhg. Dato' Ir. Ismail bin Md. Salleh, Director General of MHA and senior officials from various government agencies and the private sector. The West Coast Expressway along 233km is a new project under Malaysian Highway Authority which will connect Banting, Selangor to Taiping, Perak. The highway will be an alternative route to the North and to facilitate economic growth of the surrounding area.
